Vintage Style FABULOUS soft shimmery peach silk faille 20's cloche hat with magnificent vintage shirred silk lattice applied ribbonwork and handmade silk ribbonwork roses.... Like all of my hats, this one is exquisitely hand made from authentic 1920's patterns, absolutely sumptuous pure silk materials and lavish antique trimmings, entirely hand made and fully sewn "from scratch", unlike some of the decorated "blanks" or pre-formed hats one sees elsewhere! This hat looks soooo incredibly vintage as all the trim is pure silk vintage and the colors/tones are all deliciously subtle....a perfect Great Gatsby/Downton Abbey event, the Gatsby Summer Afternoon or Art Deco party cloche hat! And, this hat is especially wonderful for the chemo patient as it fits closely to the head and looks soooo feminine and glamorous....everyone will ask "WHERE did you get that hat, it's so gorgeous!" I love antique and vintage clothing and have collected it for years, as well as having a longtime design career including doing costume & restoration work for major movie studios and museums....Am now translating that love to my own contemporary creations and using all the fine extraordinary antique and vintage materials, laces, trims, beads etc that I've collected for more than 30 years in these wonderful wearable pieces....along with the finest of hand sewing and one of a kind details. Everything I create is individually hand made solely by me and has the very best of my carefully hoarded private stash of superb old accents (I use ONLY vintage materials that are in pristine condition---no deteriorating, too-aged or rotting pieces EVER) plus the finest of modern silks, cottons and wools that I can find.....resulting in a fabulous truly authentic vintage look piece. Impeccable professional workmanship and design are the hallmarks here...

This exquisite beauty of a cloche, which is one of my most popular styles, is made of very lush and shimmering dusty-peach silk jacquard faille, in a finely-ribbed texture with a tiny "V" pattern woven within it.....this is augmented with an utterly fabulous wide band of the most intricate & exquisite antique peach and ecru lace and silk satin ribbon layers, all held together with fine silk crisscross threadwork, which I then overlaid with yards and yards of handsewn shirred vintage silk ruffled-edge palest peach and cream ribbon (this is some of the most delicious, extra fine silk ribbon I've ever seen!) forming a lattice on top of the antique lace and satin ribbonwork band. At alternate intervals, I added handmade silk ribbonwork rose clusters within the diamond shapes formed by the lattice. The brim edge is bound with vintage silk and velvet woven trim in matching dusty peach..... just utterly beautiful details that take one's breath away. The fabric is just shimmeringly exquisite, the lavish ribbonwork and accents make this piece look extraordinarily vintage and ALL of the exterior decoration including the individual decorative elements, are painstakingly sewn on by hand, just as in the "old days".....I'm a stickler for primo "old school" workmanship! Fully lined in finest pure silk.....So perfect for someone who has undergone chemo too, as this is a very comfortable hat....I think everyone has the right to be BEAUTIFUL and this would be a great gift for someone who needs that little lift and to feel so pretty....! Also a great piece for anyone to wear to a vintage themed event or reenactment...this is as authentic and historically correct as it gets :-)

Please make sure you carefully note proper head measurements: this is a MADE TO ORDER hat and I generally make this particular style to fit up-to-medium sizes, my basic pattern measures approx. 23 1/2-24" inner circumference so I would say up to a size 23/23 1/4" head could wear this, any larger than that and it would probably be too snug for real comfort, I have a 22.5 size head and this fits me nicely and perfectly....if you have a small head and your hair is flat, this might be somewhat loose on you so make sure you tell me if a size adjustment is needed.....my mannequin has a 22" head but very fluffy hair, so do keep that in mind; if your head size measurement falls outside this range, you must let me know when ordering. (no extra charge for larger sizes, I just need to know exact requirement in advance) PLEASE NOTE that these hats are NOT adjustable, alterable or returnable so please do know your exact requirement before purchasing as there are no refunds or returns. To take your head measurement: --use a tape measure crossed over the forehead and just above the ears around to the largest part of the head. The 1920's cloche is meant to be a close fitting hat and hairstyle should kept to a minimum for the proper look....... Half an inch in head size CAN make a difference so please, make sure you have exact size requirements in hand before you buy and let me know if you need special sizing.
