Exquisite Vintage Style 1920s Ruby Red Antique Silks - Metallic Trims - Winter Holidays Gatsby Deco Flapper Hat - Downton Abbey Cloche Hat

Vintage 20's Art Deco Style GORGEOUS one of a kind deep ruby/garnet red, greenish-gray and glimmering metallic gold and silver 1920s Flapper Cloche Hat---this cloche hat features shimmery pure silk fabric in the softest shade of deep taupe/gray with a greenish cast--woven with little golden embroidered dots, then augmented with a breathtakingly exquisite, elaborate band of antique metallic gold and silver hand embroidery, pleated deepest ruby/garnet iridescent silk and delicate antique printed ruby silk chiffon--part of my cherished collection of rare antique silk embroideries that I've collected over the years. I painstakingly hand-appliqued this fantastic rare embroidery on the iridescent garnet silk pleated band (be sure to view closeup photos/video of this amazing embroidery!), then I hand sewed gorgeous gold metallic lace at the top to echo the rich antique metallic gold stitches throughout the embroidery, and added a fabulous large multi-layered side accent comprised of metallic lace, antique ruby red silk velvet ribbon, and a genuine antique 1920s/30s pewter metal jeweled ornament with large deep ruby molded glass stones--just magnificent! The edge of the brim is also bound with hand sewn antique silk velvet banding and more of the metallic gold lace. I was inspired to create this by the gorgeous ruby and green April Cornell 20's style chiffon dress I also have listed that's shown in the last photo--please check my other listings! (This listing is for the HAT only) Like all of my cloche hats, this one is exquisitely hand made from authentic 1920's patterns, all-natural-fiber fine materials and lavish antique trimmings....yet so wearable today....this one is simply divine for fall, winter and holiday events and weddings. Utterly beautiful details everywhere you look: the colors and elements all harmonize so delightfully together, the delicate accents make this piece look extraordinarily vintage and ALL of the exterior decoration including the individual decorative elements, are painstakingly sewn on by hand, just as in the "old days".....I'm a stickler for primo "old school" workmanship! Fully lined.....SO perfect for a 1920's Deco style wedding or event. So perfect for someone who has undergone chemo too, as this is a very comfortable hat....I think everyone has the right to be BEAUTIFUL and this would be a great gift for someone who needs that little lift and to feel so pretty....! Also a great piece for anyone to wear to a vintage themed event or reenactment...this is as authentic and historically correct as it gets :-) Looks fabulous with the brim worn up or down, though I definitely think it's best up to show off the antique trim.

Please make sure you carefully note proper head measurements: I've made this particular hat to fit a standard medium size, it measures approx. 23 3/4" inner circumference so I would say just up to a size 23" head could wear this, any larger than that and it would be too snug for real comfort, I have a 22.5 size head and this fits me perfectly....if you have a small head and your hair is flat, this might be somewhat loose on you.....mannequin has a 22" head but very fluffy hair, so do keep that in mind. PLEASE NOTE that these hats are NOT adjustable or alterable so please do know your exact requirement before purchasing as there are no refunds or returns. Good idea to take your head measurement first--tape measure crossed over the forehead and just above the ears around to the largest part of the head--before purchasing. The 1920's cloche is meant to be a close fitting hat and hairstyle should kept to a minimum for the proper look....... Half an inch in headsize CAN make a difference so please, make sure you have exact size requirements in hand before you buy. If there is a specific size requirement you're looking for do let me know, and I will keep that in mind when creating future styles.....I don't do custom work or alterations, sorry!
